AYUR-VEDA
THE KNOWLEDGE OF LIFE

Cookery courses run from 4pm on the Friday to approx 3pm on the Sunday. The course is divided into two sections: Theoretical Knowledge and Practical Cooking. 
The schedule is as follows:

Friday

4pm

Welcome, with a selection of ayurvedic teas

4.30 – 6pm

THEORY

 

followed by a light Indian-ayurvedic supper and concluding with the constitution test

SATURDAY

8.15am

Indian-ayurvedic BREAKFAST, followed by a walk around the island

10 – 11 am

THEORY

 

followed by the communal preparation of lunch
LUNCH in typical Indian style (No cutlery?!)

3.30 – 5pm

THEORY: An introduction to the medicinal use of herbs in Ayurveda, followed by communal preparation of the evening meal

OPTION: Practical cookery demonstration by Nicky Sitaram Sabnis


Free time after supper

 

  

SUNDAY

8.15am

Indian-ayurvedic BREAKFAST, followed by clearing one’s room, then a chance to order spices or to enjoy a walk round the island.

10 – 11am

THEORY

 

followed by the communal preparation of lunch
LUNCH

3pm approxend of the course and departure

 

 

Please remember to bring with you: Note-taking materials, comfortable clothing and an alarm clock. For cooking you will also need your own knives, four tea-towels and an apron.
